NETSPECTRUM Ready for Busy 2021

The NETSPECTRUM team is hitting the ground running in 2021 with three upcoming project announcements in the first three weeks of the new year. In addition to the new project announcements, NETSPECTRUM also went live with their first new tower of 2021 for residents of the Joe Lake area in Hanmer

The three new projects announced for NETSPECTRUM include the following:

Ahmic Harbour (Magnetawan)

With funding from the CENGN Northern Ontario Residential Broadband Program, and our own investments, NETSPECTRUM will be building three new rural wireless internet towers in the area and upgrading our existing Magnetawan tower to provide more speed for Magnetawan residents. Speeds are slated to reach 50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload – all NETSPECTRUM plans include unlimited monthly usage with no speed throttling.

This project is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2021.

Below is the estimated coverage of the new sites. Note these are an estimate only, service needs to be verified by a technician.

Chisholm Township

With funding from the provincial government’s Up to Speed: Ontario’s Broadband and Cellular Action Plan, Chisholm Township’s investments, and our own investments, we will be upgrading and replacing an existing tower we have in Chisholm township and adding one new tower on River Road.

The existing tower will be replaced with a tower almost twice the height of the existing tower in addition to adding additional equipment and backhaul to provide higher speeds from that tower.

The upgrade of our existing tower and building of new tower is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2021.
